Objective:
The purpose of the NCUS is to generate interest and participation in the diverse trail and road ultras in North Carolina. The ultra series
is a great way to visit and explore North Carolina. It covers the following cities and communities; Winston-Salem, Carrboro, King, Gastonia,
Lake Waccamaw, Raleigh, Derby, Ellerbe, Rockingham, Greensboro, Troy and Black Mountain

Race Entry and Rules:
Each event in the series is a separate and independent event. Each race director determines their own entry fees, race date,
and number of entries allowed, cut-off times, and other policies. Also, we are not responsible for any races that get cancelled.
Series Entry:The entry fee for the NCUS is.
$50.00 prior to January 31, 2008
$60.00 prior to March 1, 2008
$75.00 thereafter until March 31, 2008
The registration deadline is March 31, 2008. All races are retroactive once the entry is received. Entries are non-transferable.

Scoring System:
1st place gets 1000 points, be it male or female.
Each finisher gets 1000 * (1st place time / Your time)The times are in minutes, omitting the seconds.
Example:
2005 Triple Lakes Trail Race 40
Matt Daniels (1st) = 1000 * (304 / 304) = 1000 points
Mike Day (19th) = 1000 * (304 / 447) = 680 points
Mark Long (26th) = 1000 * (304 / 470) = 646 points
Series Standings:
You are encouraged to run all races in the series. Series standings and award winners will be determined by the total cumulative
points of the best three (3) races for each individual. Each race submitted must have a minimum of 20 finishers. Races with less than
20 finishers will not count towards your total points. However, it does count towards your finishers jacket.
Past Results
It is required that you run at least one race of 40 or more miles. (Completing 40+ miles at a 24 hour event will also count.)
Plus, an additional 50 points for the Umstead 50 and the Boogie 50.Plus, an additional 100 points for the Umstead 100.
Plus, 1 bonus point for each mile completed in the Hinson Lake 24 Hour Run.
The minimum number of races required is three.
Awards:
Special jacket or award for the first male and female in the series.Each finisher will receive a commemorative jacket embroidered with the series logo.
A finisher is one who completes at least three races with one of those being 40 miles or longer. DNF's do not count.
